The following works were made through mixed methodologies and fabrication practices.
“The Slouchy Balloon” (2019) is a fabric simulation carved in marble.
Created as part of the Digital Stone Residency in 2019, the piece was originally intended to have a texture wrapping, that was ultimately carved without a digital texture map, so as to compliment the Bardiglio marble it is carved in.
Simulated in Marvelous Designer, developed in Maya, and 3D printed all on it's way to marble, The Slouchy Balloon hopes to inspire a playful delight in the properties of traditional art materials and pipelines.
“Glitch Vessels” (2019) where originally simulated in Marvelous Designer using "digital molds" made in Maya, then 3D printed in PLA to be directly cast in copper and iron.
